Considering singles get 40 points more than families who dont get wife's education and IELTS done.

Would it be a good idea to register alone without family, and then later after getting the PR, sponsoring them from inside Canada?
The drawback is that provinces like families more than Singles, so it may diminish the chances to get provincial support...

it is also important that, how you justify the scenario to CIC . If they find any issues, things can go worst!. just double check with past experiences.

What does past experience say?
I dont see why would I even have to justify it to CIC?
All I have to say is that for the time being, we decided to split and that my wife remains separate from me.
After I get the PR, I (we) are entitled to change our mind, no? 8)

You're entitled to change your mind - but this doesn't meant you will be allowed to sponsor your wife later. CIC isn't stupid. Many others have tried this type of trick before and CIC has put rules in place to prevent it. If you say that you split from your wife and exlcude her from your application, this will mean you can NEVER sponsor her. If she wants to come to Canada after you have immigrated, then she will have to qualify to immigrate on her own. You will not be able to sponsor her.

That sounds very harsh.
People get separated, and then reunited...
Based on what can CIC refuse sponsorship application? What you say is not humane, and does not sound like the Canadian way...

CIC have clear rules about this. It is harsh, deliberately, so that applicants take it very seriously. If you don't declare a formal relationship in the application it's considered to be misrepresentation which can lead to a 5 year ban from entry to Canada and further PR applications. It also automatically removes the omitted relationship from future sponsorship under Family Class. Google for "117(9)(d)" and "Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations".

Thank you! now it is so much clearer, that I've read the clause for myself.
I guess this settles it.. our best hope is to go on the married path, and hope my points are enough.. will see by end of January.

Thanks Scylla as well :)
