Hello!
I graduated on May 2013 with Finance/Economics degree and but have been working as a junior web developer for 10 months under my PGWP(expiring April 2016). I am hoping to apply for PR soon and wondering if it is a big issue that I am a web dev. despite the fact that I am a Finance graduate.
Backstory: I realized that working in a finance job wasn't for me and I truly enjoyed front-end development instead. So I went to take a course at a private school to learn web development that gave me skills to land my current job at a great digital marketing agency. The school I studied at didn't require me a student permit because the program was only 3 months and the school itself isn't in the designated learning institute list (cic.gc[at]ca/english/study/study-who.asp)
So, is having a different career and education background a major factor when applying for CEC? If yes, what are other options to apply for PR?
Thank you!
