I posted a question about this in the parents/grandparents thread but it got barried.

Does anyone know what an immigration officer would be looking for in brothers/sisters who are over 18?
My siblings are both attending private colleges in the local language. They are also learning English privately. But I’m afraid that since waiting times are so long they will soon have to get a job. Do siblings who obtain employment decrease their chances of coming to Canada. What if they work and become fluent in English? I think getting a job after finishing college should be encouraged since that teaches them to be responsible.

How old were they when you submitted the application to sponsor them and your parents? They may not need to stay in school. They may just need to remain single/unmarried.

They were both under 18 when first submitting the application to sponsor back in 2009. They are now above 18 (one of them turned 18 before submitting the second set of forms/documents).
