Hi all

i need advice i have posted my application to Nova Scotia 2 weeks ago and waiting for letter. my question is that when i need to submit my documents to Visa office, i dont have my master degree certificate, because it will take 5 month to issue. i have my Masters Marksheet (Transcript) and also letter from university that i have completed my degree in dates. University is also agree to issue me letter that my degree certificate will take issued in 5 months.

Do you think that without degree certificate my case will be weak and my interview chances will increase?

Should i wait to issue my degree certificate and then submit to visa office?

Saeed,

They need degree, not DMC (Detmail Marks Certificate), at the moment there is no issue. But you must have to arrange your degree at the time they will ask you to submit it. Ask your University to give you as soon as possible. So later you dont have to rush things.

Didn't you read instruction where its written that later on they might be needing your originally degree with University Seal Stamp?

not sure what Jawad is on about

anyway, my opinion, you definitely need to get your university to provide you with an original transcript of your degree in a university sealed envelope (ask for a copy for yourself as you can't open it to see what's inside)

provide a letter to CIC explaining the delay in getting your certificate

at worst, they may delay processing, but as you have presumably passed your Masters, you should have no problem proving this with the transcript alone

John,

I am talking about Pakistan, thats the way we do it in Pakistan, they give you that Mark Sheet and then sometime it takes years to get original degree, but when its matter of Immigration or foreign relations. We have to request our University to issue degree on urgent basis.

one more question for John,

I got my degree already several months back. How come it can be in sealed envelope since i had already opened it and need to stamp it from HEC as well yet.

I mean, should i ask University to give me degree again in sealed envelop though they have already given me?

Regards,

J...

No problem dear, applicant is you or your wife. Originally degree should be arranged before they ask you and you do things in hurry in short time.

Still if you need any help. I would try my best.

Dear Jawad

u dont need to sealed degree. u need to send transcript in sealed enveloped. so get a copy of transcript attest it by HEC and then ask university to stamp it and ask univerity to sealed in envelope and stamp enveloped as well. no need to put degree in envelope.

you can read it in visa office specific instruction page no. 4. below is information which is on page 4 :

6. EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
• Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or
diplomas;
• College or university documents: certification of completion and the
graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and
the evaluation committee;
• Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in universitysealed
envelopes.
• Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications
certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer
Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

Fin

that's it, always read the official documents especially your in-country instructions

Jawad

the degree transcript is required in university sealed envelope, it's the most forged document submitted for immigration purposes and CIC want to make sure they make it very difficult for anyone to do this, so you have to ask for this as an extra special arrangement and maybe pay a small fee

best of luck, Fin, Finland to canada, maybe a degree or two different in temperature, but at least they play cricket in Canada!!!

John,

Thanks for reply dear, but what if i already have my degree in hand couple of months back? How come any University can issue 2 degrees at once to 1 person?

Please clear me on this.

hi guys!

but what if you have your academic degrees and credential already officially assessed by a legally certified and authorized Canadian agency. I have mine assessed by WES.
Do you think the will accept the original (and official) assessment?

Thats great dear,

But, what if you can do it in your own country and do it on cheaper fees instead of going for WES and spending money and all? HEC attestation is also valid as far as we are applying FSW. What do u think?

hi jawadahmad77,

unfortunately I don't know anything about HEC. I did everything through WES directly in Toronto, the past year. My University provided them with the original transcripts, then the documents were translated by COSTI and finally assessed by WES. One month, on the whole, to have everything assessed.

A friend of mine went through the Guelph University. It is supposed to be cheaper but the waiting time are veery long. I don't know how things anded up with her.
