Hello Everyone,

I was planning to start to apply for FSW and fortunately the list of NOCs that Canada recently announced DOES include my experience in Social Work BUT my education is in Linguistics not really close to Social work. Can anyone tell me what are my chances or does anyone know if they pay attention to the relation between Education and work experience?

Thank you all in advance!

It depends on visa officer that whetherl he be satisfied. if u worked in a reputed organization, have a good english score, then u have good chances. at present visa officers rejected some applications coz they thought that that job required very good english and applicants had basic ielts score.

now there are limits per NOC. so hurry and apply before the limit is reached. if application is not approved fee will be returned.

I can't find the reference, but know I've read somewhere that you do not have to have the qualifications specified for the particular NOC if you are applying in the FSW1 category. The deciding factor is whether or not you can prove you performed the essential/main duties of that NOC in a paid position for a minimum of one full year in the last 10 years.
