Educated but paperless in the US. Canada still within reach?

Hello,

My life story is long and full of misfortunes but I am an upstanding person aside from the fact that I do not currently reside in the US with legal documents. I posses a master's degree in business management from a french university but I have not had a chance to use it because I moved to the US after finishing school. I could not find employment in time, and for private reasons for this forum I could not sensibly do anything else but stay in the US. I have volunteered with humanitarian organizations, worked with churches to help communities, and done babysitting. But none of that was as a legal resident, and neither does it count as work experience in relation to my academic training. Yet I am full of potential an ready to make something great out of my life. I am 37 years old without kids, without any thing binding me to the US. Is there any way for me to move to Canada? Is there anything that does not involve having to return to my country of origin?

To move to Canada you would need to qualify to immigrate through one of Canada's economic immigration programs. All of these programs require that you have at least one year of full time paid work experience - typically in a skilled profession. If you don't have a year of full time work experience, then unfortunately immigrating won't be possible. If you want to look into Canada's immigration programs further, you can find details here:

If you are fluent in French, you may have some shot..look into the link that scylla provided for the francophone-targeted programs.

Job experience does not have to be relevant to education, but in most cases, it has to be paid and skilled (so, not babysitting).
