Edmonton RQ

Hi all, 32 months and counting since I applied for citizenship in Edmonton. I have been advised by the CIC call Centre that I am now in queue for a Citizenship Examination. I was also advised by a staff member of my MLA of the same news, however, she did say I may be at risk of receiving an RQ after I take the exam. I was extremely disappointed with this news as that would mean another 48 months of waiting.

Can anyone offer any input on experience related to RQ in Edmonton, especially after walking out of an citizenship exam?

I am amazed and equally distraught as my residency in Canada is well established and accurately documented. And my travels outside Canada never amount to more than 4 weeks per.

With RQ, you will may wait a few months after submission or maybe a year (as for most people here, including myself). Some odd situations when they have to wait longer.

Anyway, you are not even requested for RQ yet so don't worry too much about it. Just take the test first. By the way, the person who answers your phone is not the one to decide the risk of getting RQ, she does not play any role in that matter.

You can also order ATIP to see whats going on with your application. At least you are in queue for test.
