Recently got an eCoPR and before was asked for "original entry date" and "Date of last time you entered Canada". I listed two different dates; my first travel to Canada as original entry and my last entry was a separate travel to Canada where i began my immigration process shortly after and never left.

The officer used my last entry for both dates so my question is what is the meaning of "original entry date" for copr?

First time entering with immigration intention or first time traveling to Canada period? The officer either corrected my original date or he messed up. What do you guys think? Searched internet and no one seems to have a solid definition. Last entry clearly states into Canada whereas original entry lacks context.

Original date- when you first landed in Canada.
Last time entered- can vary from above date.
For instance you entered Canada in 2019 and left after an year so next time you entered Canada is 2021 and haven't since then.
So first time date of enter in Canada will be 2019, whereas last date to enter Canada will be 2021.

Taran D is correct!

I called IRCC as nobody knows from a direct source and nobody updates threads that have brought this issue up in the past. My officer messed up my eCoPR dates. IRCC agent says he gets this question a lot. Original entry date is the first time you came into Canada period. He said that the error wont impact things in the short term but it should be amended because it can affect old age pension and stuff in the future.

Hopefully my hour long phone call helps some of you in the future. Keep your fingers crossed that your officer can copy and paste dates correctly! Good luck...

hi there, I replied to my portal email today and by mistake I entered the last entry date incorrect while the original entry date is correct. Do you think I should call ircc to let them know about this mistake or last entry date does not matter ?
I am still to reveive my ecopr. Please help

Yes you should, as said in the post above "may affect old age pension and other stuff."

I’m trying to put my date of original entry which is September 6,2021 and then my latest entry is the same date but the form won’t work because it’s saying that the date of latest entry needs to be grater than the date of arrival but isn’t that wrong information?

What if someone crossed the Niagara border to visit the US side of Falls for a few hours. Does it change the last entry date?

I got my P1 email today. And I am confused about this Date of last time you entered Canada (YYYY/MM/DD):. I recently crossed windsor detriot border and came back to Canada the same day. Should that be considered as the last entry date ?

I am in a similar situation, what did you finally write and what is printed in your ECopr as last entry?
