Ecase status "Received by VISA Office"

June 23 rd my application was transferred from NS to Buffalo office and my online status is showing "Received by VISA office" for the past several months. I would like to know whether this is a normal time taken or is it unusual.

Please let me know.

Mine was transfered in Feb 2009 and it is still showing the same message. I think you have some time to go. It is not unusual. Are you FSW 1.

a while. I haven't checked trackitt in a while but that might given an indication how well they are doing.

When I sent out an email to Buffalo customer service, they replied saying they will respond within 52 weeks, so for you I think they might respond before Feb or else you can go ahead and raise a query to them.

They told me to get back to them if I haven't heard from them within a year. I was hoping to have the PR so I can look for a job in Canada. I don't want to move to Canada without a job.

Good news is that Buffalo has started processing november and december 20008 applications.
So they are true to their reputation of 14 months average.

I am sitting on the queue since June 09.
I am hoping to get the GC before the PR (I was hoping PR would come first and can leave the job and move to Canada for a new business opportunity)

Not to disappoint you but do not build that hope on the processing time at Buffalo. Buffalo applicants celebrate when they see the word "in process" after 12 months of sending their applications when other visa offices issue the PR visa within 5 and 6 months form the application receipt date.

Looks like we are applying for different countries not the same......canada !

I just now got an update from Buffalo office that they might take upto 52 weeks from the day when the PCC, IELTS & Proof of funds are submitted to them for processing an application. I really do not know what they meant, but this is what they said. Any thoughts friends?????
