Hi guys ,

My spouse education is High school. If I provide her education details in EE profile , should I also submit a ECA for her high school education ?
In case , post ITA if they ask to submit spouse education documents , what should I do ?

ECA is not required for the spouse, but it is required if you want to get the points for her education. If the ECA confirms the equivalent of a high school diploma, you would gain 2 points.

If asked, then you give. Copy of a high school diploma and/or transcript would be required with the application if you want to claim the points.

@ jes_ON,

Thanks for response . I donot want any points from her . I am going to choose "NONE or LESS THAN SECONDARY" in the education level
and choose NO to ECA . Is that fine?

My spouse is a college drop-out. He could provide a 3-year certificate, confirming his attendance, but no diploma. Does that count for something or should we go with his HS diploma?

Unfortunately not. Incomplete courses don't count for anything.

Hi everyone,

I got an ITA about a week ago and currently filling out all the details. I have included my common-law partner into my application. I am not claiming any points for his work experience nor education. In the Express Entry profile I did include his previous jobs, without claiming any points and didn’t add his high-school education as I have no ECA because not claiming any points for it.

In the current PR application, I need to fill out my partner’s personal, study & work history. Now, the question is whether or not to include his work history/high school education as I didn’t claim any points for those. Or should I just mention those in his personal history and not fill them out in the ‘study’ nor ‘work experience’ field?

Thank you :)
