ECA not obtained for dependent applicant

Hi members,

I had a query regarding ECA. My husband and I are planning to submit our EE profile soon. Both my husband and I have a Bachelor's from India and a Master's from the US. I am the primary applicant.

My WES ECA has equivalency for both degrees (Bachelors & Masters). However, because we couldn't get my husband's transcripts from India, he only has his Master's equivalency in WES. In our EE profile, I have indicated that his Bachelor's degree does NOT have an ECA.

Our thinking was that since he is only the dependent, he isn't getting any additional points for having two degrees like the primary applicant. ("Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer ").

Is this correct? Will it cause our application to be outright rejected or just eliminate the points he would get for education (~10 or so). Would we need to get his Bachelors evaluated as well? We would rather not do it unless it is absolutely essential.

Any help is appreciated.

You are correct. Since he is not the primary applicant, his education assessment is completely optional depending on how many points you wish to add. The system will auto calculate his points based on masters evaluation only. it would not have any bearing on accept or rejection of the application.
