ECA from WES Canada: Including a Cover Letter?

Hi guys,

My university releases transcripts in a sealed envelope to the students: which means I'll be mailing WES my transcripts (sealed envelope attested by the uni) along with a copy of the degree certificate.

I know a lot of you must have done the same: so should I include a short cover letter with the package quoting my reference number and listing the enclosures?

That's what I usually do when I'm mailing documents to any organisation, but I figured it doesn't cost me anything to ask here before I do so.

So: yea or nay?

No need for a cover letter. I wrote my reference number at the top of the address field on the outside of the envelope, and I received my eca successfully.

Make sure your uni stamped their seal across the back flap.

So did you write the reference number on both the sealed envelope with the transcript as well as the "outer" envelope you sent out? Or just the outer one?

I only had one envelope that the university had put the transcript into. I put the address with reference number on the outside of this envelope, put a stamp on it and mailed it.

There was only one envelope, the reference number was on the address field only, on the inside there was only the transcript without a reference number. This worked for me.

I see! But, didn't you need to send them a copy of your degree certificate along with the transcript?

The WES checklist asks me for the below two items:

1. A legible photocopy of my degree certificate
2. Transcripts from uni in a sealed envelope, backflap signed et cetera.

Item 2 is something I'll collect from my uni and item 1 is something I'll have to include in the package, right? That's why I was talking about an outer envelope.

no need to confuse .
1. You university provide you sealed envelope which contains transcript .
2. It is not confirm they attached copy of certificate with transcript .
3. So take new envelope , write WES reference number and address on it . Putinto your university envelope and copy of your degree certificate in new envelope and post it .

Yes, you got that right.
Two envelopes, one from the University with the transcripts in it sealed.
Another one with the degree certificate with an optional cover letter, that's upto you.
WES Reference Number in both. Hope its clear now. GOOD LUCK!

Yes.Same thing I am planning to df course I will include a covering letter to be on the safer side.
