Hello everyone,

I live in the Caribbean where after high school you only get a cxc certificate or a school leaving certificate.
I am now being told by my lawyer that i would require an ECA for this certificate.
A few of my friends who are in Canada never had to provide an ECA for such a low lever of education.
An ECA was provided for my degree so i am not sure why i need to obtain another for high school ?

I am also being told that i need an ECA for a course that i am still currently pursuing.
Universities in the Caribbean wont be able to provide a transcript for a course that i am still in the middle of completing.

I am confused just what to do.

Any assistance would be helpful.

I am from Trinidad and Tobago and I did it for my CXC but after I realized it was not necessary. It isn’t needed when filling out your online application as it ask for diploma and higher. Only diploma and higher is counted for points. Your CXC would not be counted.

You do not gain points for an incomplete program so why do you need a transcript for it?

Thanks for your response.
I should have mentioned that i already received the ITA and I am now trying to gather the required documents required for submission.

I have decided to submit my cxc cert and the school leaving cert which is not considered a diploma, it makes no sense, spending more money to get an ECA for this.

Maybe my lawyer is new to this but I wont be able to request a transcript for a course that's still in progress.

If anyone have ever encountered this please let me know.
