What kind of question is this?
Do you expect us to plan your life for you?Is anyone compelling to migrate to Canada? You need to weigh the pros and cons and not ask people such a frivolous question like this!!

only you can answer that question. if you have a comfortable life in your home country, then why immigrate? you need not ask others in this forum about this as the answer of each of us trying to emigrate is a personal one.

it is your choice what you want to do with your life, it is not right to ask others to do it for you or to convince you which path to take. each of us are in different situations respectively.

Do you know about what is called opportunity cost? Without trying to offend anyone, you know the quality of life in Pakistan/india. Any, i think people have better things to do with their time than to answer a time wasting question like this.

The following is my opinion and others may have diff. views.
You just need to compare the basic infrastructure in India (I have never been to Pak, so can't comment) with developed countries like Canada/USA and take your decision. I am referring to power cuts (repetitive), water problems, roads, health/hospital conditions, pollution, lack of civic sense in general here along with endemic corruption, political parties out to loot public money in general (CWG 2010, telecom scam etc.), not doing enough for nationalism and nation-building (poor handling of Maoism and Kashmir issue), lack of concern for environment and wildlife (our national animal, the tiger, is about to be extinct, illegal mining is rampant in many designated green belt areas).
I could go on and on, however I am sure Canada is no utopia and will have its problems, it is just that even though I am not doing too bad here, I wud like to give my children and family, what I perceive is a far better life.

Canada has meany benefits. for me I am financially stable in Lebanon in fact I can move to lower rent areas and never have to work again, but I chose to apply and want to immigrate despite the fact that I will work really hard in Canada to make a decent living.
the benefits are (not in order of importance):

1- no war, unless the US decided to invade LOL
2- no pollution or very low pollution comapred to Lebanon
3- less traffic jams, no traffic jams if I decided to live in less habited areas
4- electricity 24hrs a day. no rolling blackouts
5- Canadain citizenship which can take you almost anywhere in the world and is hilghly regarded by other countries
6- parks, nature, zoos, botanical gardens, shopping malls, tourist attractions, museums, niagara falls.....etc. +much much more.
7- My kids can play and cross the street without fear of being runover
8- I can get a house with a garden and plant tomatoes. my kids can play in that garden.
9- People drive under laws and regulations that protect them and others
10- Business peiople have better sense of how to do business with you
11- no more militias and armed men on the streets
12- people in Canada say please and thank you. being polite is very important to me.
13- children with special needs like Autism get better care, instead of being treated like animals here by teachers and even other normal but impolite children
14- when world hunger hits Canada will be one of the few countries with food and water
15- you can buy anything you like like spare parts for my broken scooter, which if we had good roads with no holes and bumps everywhere wouldn't be broken
16- driving in Canada is a pleasure, roads are clean, safe, no holes or bumps
17- travelling from Toronto to Vancouver by car is an adventure of a lifetime
18- sewers don't flow into the streets ever time it rains
19- I don't have to bribe anyone to get my things done.
20- money comes and go but seeing your kids play in a park in Canada is priceless.

etc... many many more reasons. the list can go for hours. the only thing is will I get immigration before my kids ar etoo grown to play in the park?

Hi Fernendez

I can see the frustration for such an innocent query  ??? ..... and you too are wasting your precious time in such a question...... :p :p .... suppose our friend goes to Dubai (& plans to settle there) then..... forget India / Pakistan...... For the benefit of dear member I will quote this whole set of facts ..... as given by our dear captain qorax -

-R u a citizen of the country where u presently live?
-Can u get the Nationality of that country, if u r an Expatriate?
-Can u stay/reside till "eternity" in that country?
-Can u do whatever u want there, even if it's not illegal?
-Can u buy a house "in a year" in that country?
-Even if u r less qualified or underemployed, can u think of buying a house?
-Will u get pension after your haytime is past in your current country?
-R u entitled to "unemployment insurance" there?
-Can your children be called First Country Citizens there?
-Can u vote & get to elect your representative at the senate (in 4 yrs.)?
-Would u get to meet your MP - for personal matters?
-Does your child receive Free Education now (& a good one at that)?
-Do u all receive Free Healthcare in that nation (& the best too)?
-Do u like to reside in Asia rather than North Americas?
-Do u believe in equality of man & get it there?
-R u treated at par there alongwith the nationals?
-Can u still hold your head high under dire straits?
-Does the Cop call u "Sir" even while u r being ticketed?
-Can u purchase 50% of your goods there at cheaper rates than here?
-Could u buy a good used Merc @ $12000? And a fairly new one @ $22K?
-Do u get your merchandize locally made or from EU/US, rather than China?
-Can u get homegrown foodstuff (& organic too), not imported?
-Can u be least bothered about landlords increasing your rents?
-Can u be assured about Minimum Wages there?
-Can u go into Collective Bargaining with your employer?
-How about being self-employed, w/out the hassle of owenership/sponsorship?
-Do u receive about $300-500/child as Free Allowance every month?
-If u get disabled (God Forbid), can u call the Public Bus to your home doorstep?
-Can u daily bike to "whispering meadows" & live healthier?
-Does your patio open to natural greenery, all around?
-Can u come to your home basement & catch the Subway, w/out leaving the bldg?
-Can u call the world over in $30/month, unlimited?
-If u r a single lady, will u be assured of safety & opportunities by your Govt?
-Can your wife be assured of Govtl. Support if u pass away (God Forbid) uninsured?

The list is endless........ AND even if we are citizens / nationals / right to vote ....... most of our answers will be NO...... Still if you feel that most of the answers to the above is yes - Please stay in your country ....... don't waste your time and energy in Canada ..... (CAD 2000 job Vs Rs 1,00,000) ..... ;) :D ;D

Cheers, Anil

Hi

There are two sides to a coin!!!!

If you have doubts about immigrating to Canada then do your research well in case you happen to change your mind later. You have just mentioned how much you earn and if that is your only goal (money) and acheivement then you are fine... you do not have to think about immigrating.

Please go through the link below to have some perspective, both, negative and positive:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/why-i-immigrate-to-canada-t13520.15.html

There are many more discussions on the forum related to your dilemma.

Okay, let me tell you, I was born in Switzerland, the land of the banks, chocolate, money, hardly any crime, jobs in abundance etc etc.. Why would I leave this paradise one may think? I have no children to provide for, only my dear wife and a pussycat..

I am now living in New Zealand, I moved there 10 years ago, did all the immigration bits and now I do it again!! Why? Because I can, I want to see other places, meet people, do stuff. My job allows me to go and find good positions all over the world, maybe Canada is not the last station.. Who knows.

Everyone is different and does things differently and for other reasons.. To me it is not money anymore, it is quality of life and space, lots of it. I am fortunate to have visited Canada several times, to go and choose the best place for me and my wife.

@Anil, there is no frustration as regards the question. It is just a case of not showing ability to prioritize from the questioner. You know the benefits of immigrating to Canada and so do others, why can he not do some research 1st before asking for peoples opinion. Does he think that most people that wants to immigrate don't have good jobs where they are?EVERYONE IS DOING THIS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE KIDS and to live in an accommodating society!!
