Good afternoon Forum,

I have a question regarding E-CAS, until we receive our confirmation letter from CIC we cannot access E-CAS since we do not have the file number for our case, they also mention using the receipt number but since we payed outland by money draft we do not have the iimm receipt number like those who payed online by credit card. So realistically since we are in Jamaica how long well it take to receive that letter if we just sent off our Sponsorship application.

Try followin the forum of the month u applied in, these dYs it is ranging anywhere from 30 to 70 days to get a response from them

I actually did hv access to ecas b4 i got my letter becuz i came to canada as an immigrant and they give u a client id, which stays the same, so i used that but the ecas doesnt show n e activity until they send u the letter that says apllication received. So i wouldnt wrry bout the ecas just keeP chkin email for that letter once u get that ull be able to login, right now even if u login it wont show n e thin

Hi Everyone, I am in the same boat except I have not even had an interview or anything. I just ordered CAIPS notes for my file but it's going to be a full year on 10/27/2012. Based on the application timeline, does anyone have any idea when the case might be transferred to LA or be approved ? I know it would only be a guess but I'm frustrated like everyone else and getting very impatient as I thought CIC was better than USCIS but it seems like they are worse.

When I log into ecas all it says is

We received your application for permanent residence on October 27, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Results sent by RCMP to Canadian Consulate for finger prints 5/11/2012
Notification via email that case was transferred to Ottawa 6/22/2012
Ottawa help desk email states file was transferred and is working thru a large number of files at same time 9/17/2012

Hello cocomtl,

I did not receive any confirmation letter from CPC, they only emailed me...guess what it landed in my junk mail folder...until my friend (applied 2 months after me) told me they got their confirmation by email.

I suggest you also check your spam/junk mail folder too.

Will my hudband and I have the same file number or I will receive both in my email from CIC.

You and husband will have different UCI numbers, you get yours when you get AOR1 or sponsorship approval, and your spouse gets their own UCI when the VO it is transferred to sends them AOR2. BTW, that receipt number thing is hit and miss, miss more than anything. I have only heard of a few people being able to log into ecas with it.
