Hey guys, me and my wife are using the Sao Paulo visa office... we are a little concerned about our application, here are some details:

Application Filed: September 26th, 2013
AOR Received: October 9th, 2013
File Transfer: October 15th, 2013

We both received an email on November 7th, 2013 from the VO in SP asking for additional documentation, I sent both scanned copies replying to the e-mail they sent, and we also sent the originals in the mail to them, the tracking from the post office says it arrived there.

The problem is that when I check e-CAS, it still says "Application Received", and this has not moved since it was transferred to Sao Paulo. I sent an e-mail asking if everything was ok as they did not say anything after that, that was December 13th. We are both worried about this situation if it is sufficient and why isn't it "In Process". Did this happen to anyone else? They haven't responded to anything.

Are the visa office closed until Jan 6th?

Thanks for your help.

E-cas will never show all the procedures they make before actually assessing the application. Usually they ask for additional documents before the processing starts. The wait until the actual processing may be for months. And usually the actual processing takes from a few days to 2-3 weeks.

If you want to know in detail what is happening with your file you may ask for your ATIP/GCMS notes - https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do. It costs 5 dollars and you get them in 30 days. They contain every move and every note that was made on you file.

Our ecas never went into "in process". It remained at "application received" the whole time. Then it went straight to "Decision Made" after his interview and never went into "in process". don't rely on ecas. I obsessed over it the whole time for nothing lol. GCMS notes were useful tho. we were able to see that he had an interview coming up but that it was almost waived and no negative notes written by the VO.

Thank you both for your answers. I will definitely get the notes for the case.
Just hope it doesn't take too long to finish the application.
