Duties qualify for NOC 2173(Software Engineers and Designers)?

Can someone please check and confirm whether following duties will qualify for NOC 2173(Software Engineers and Designers) or not? Is there any email address where we can send duties to HRSDC and get it confirmed whether it will qualify or not?


Installation, upgrade, maintenance and support of various software applications like SAP R/3, ECC, BW (Business warehouse), BI, XI, PI (process integration), EP, Netweaver Components and Solution Manager with different Operating systems and databases.

Designed and implemented Change and Transport Management policies between SAP applications such that developed date moved to Development, Quality and Production environments in efficient manner after having proper testing.

Taking responsibility for deploying solutions, such as creating and developing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system.

Carrying out detailed design, development, unit and system testing and documentation related to issues/defects[/color].

Performing maintenance and support activities for software applications like applying SAP Support patches, Applying OSS Notes, Installation of Add on components, Performance Tuning, Workload Analysis, Printer Configuration, Transport Management System, client administration, system copies.

Design and architect hardware sizing for Hardware Upgrade of SAP systems and prepared performance report to evaluate reliability of SAP application and optimize hardware requirements.

Planning, documenting and testing of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans in relation to the SAP solution.

Install and configure R3 User front-end (SAPGUI) on user PCs as required .Performed testing of new SAPGUI roll out. Installed third party software like clone and test in various SAP applications.

Worked on integration of non Unicode and Unicode SAP applications. Performed multiple system refreshes to do multiple integration testing for merging of SAP applications.

Working with users to formulate and document business requirements, creating functional specification and performing actual technical changes.

Performing operating system and database maintenance and support activities

I cant speak to the NOC description. However, I sent my inquiry to noc-cnp@workingincanada.gc.ca (HRSDC). Still waiting for a response. Through discussions, others have noted the reply process taking around 2 weeks.

Are you working with a temporary foreign work permit? Did your employer applied for LMO with the same duties listed and what NOC code he used?

In my case i used same NOC code which my employer used with work permit application.

I am working on temporary foreign work permit and my emp has applied for LMO with the same duties list above and they have used NOC 2173.

The problem is my employer has not covered all the duties mentioned for NOC 2173 on HRSDC site while filing LMO.Please suggest what need to be done. My ref letter should include all the duties listed on LMO OR it incluse all the duties listed for NOC 2173 on HRSDC site?

Include whatever was listed in the LMO application. That is what i did in my case.
you don't need to match was HRSDC site has written.

I will include all the duties listed on LMO + some of the duties mentioned on HRSDC site NOC 2173 while preparing emp reference letter.

Please suggest if any other things(information need to be included) I need to take care while preparing ref letter.

as for as i know , you need not to cover all the points which are present in HRSDC site.

Sounds good. I dont think we'll be getting anything back before mid January, but I'll keep you posted on mine. Should give you an idea, since we're only days apart.
