Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

I applied for my Dubai police clearance certificate on March 1st and it will be ready on March 5th.

I plan to submit my profile as close to the 23rd May, 2017 deadline as possible due to the funds issue. The Dubai police clearance is valid for 3 months only.

With that in mind the certificate will be valid until 30th May, 2017 if counting from 1st March or until 3rd June, 2017 if counting from the date of issue.

I reckon if the clearance is valid on the date of submission then it shouldn't be a problem right?

Thank you for your time.

IRCC considers the PCC to be valid for 6 months. As long as it is less than 6 months at the time you submit your eAPR, it will be OK.

You're submitting your profile before 23rd of May anyway, so don't see an issue whether it expires on 30th of May or 3rd of June.

Off topic, but is it fine to travel (short visit) after getting a PCC from your country of residence or do you need a new PCC?

- We are residents of Dubai
- we applied online on 3rd March.
- received a message to update our data by visiting the nearest police station.
- went to Ports Police Station on 4th March. They checked our Emirates ID
- Report received on 5th March.
- The certificate is issued electronically. Does this work for CIC?
- Valid for 3 months.
- If we are traveling before submission of our application/PCC, do we need to request a fresh PCC?

Are you applying from outside UAE, in online format
I am inside of UAE right now and I applied in-person at the police station.

I got the certificate today (printed version) and it states it is valid for 3 months, but if it is valid for 6 months for IRCC then it is okay. Also, from your guy's responses I understood that if it is valid at the time of submission of the EE application then it is good to go.

PS: Mine literally said that "UnleashedFX has been good". I laughed out loud. I wonder if you are not good what do they write? Maybe something like: "UnleashedFX has been a very very naughty man!" ;D ;D ;D

Some members on the forum mentioned that it worked. IRCC says you can apply online on their UAE PCC page. I went to the police station and also got mine delivered to my email address, so it seems that the police is pushing for electronic documents now.

You can validate the certificate on the Dubai Police website. Look for the eDocuments Inquiry Service and put the reference number and security code in your PCC. I'm mentioning that in my LOE but IRCC probably already knows.

Dubai Police are only issuing ePCC now. I received the electronic one as well and the policeman said that it would be acceptable by IRCC. However, he also mentioned that in case I want to get it stamped then I can bring a colored print of the certificate and get it stamped. I didn't do that, however, since the certificate was for my spouse and I am the primary applicant in our case.

Check this.. If you are a local or expat, you can apply online.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/mid-east/united-arab-emirates.asp

If you live in the United Arab Emirates: (for more than 6 months)
You may either apply:

In person OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in the UAE, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the police department in your emirate (see Special notes and considerations for complete list).

OR online.
