Hi guys,
I've previously posted questions here and had very helpful replies so here goes...
My situation and consequent question is this: My husband (British citizen) is the main applicant and I am his dependent, the query is for his situation. We applied for the Dubai police certificate from their embassy in London (being UK residents) on 23 June 2017. We got our ITA on the 28th of June.
Accordingly the last date for our application falls on the 28th of September. We have since requested updates from the Dubai embassy twice and on the last correspondence on 7th September we were informed that our application was forwarded to Dubai on the 6th of July. They further reiterated that it will take approximately 12 weeks from that date to receive the certificate. This means the 12 week ends on the 28th of September (also our deadline for application). We have not had the police certificate to date and don't expect to receive it until the deadline for our application has passed.
We have been reassured on this forum as well as a phone call to the CIC center to submit our application with a Letter of Explanation attached. However I am afraid to apply in absence of this certificate as there have also been reports of very strict case workers who will reject your application without further consideration in absence of a document without regard to the LoE. Even if we receive the police certificate the next day after applying, there is no way to upload this unless we are requested for it. So once we have submitted the application it is really in the hands of the caseworker.
As we do not wish to leave anything to chance, we wondered as some have suggested, to find someone on the ground to obtain a police certificate for us and to email it over. We have heard this is a quick process and will not take as much time as the application via the embassy has. Please advise whether if we go down this route does it affect/ jeopardize our original application via the Dubai embassy in any way? If not, how do we go about it and how much time do we expect it to take?
Many thanks
