Dear All,
My fiancee is an USA citizen living in a south Asian (non-Visa exempt) country. I am planning to marry soon and bring her to Canada (since she is a US citizen, she doesn't have to apply for Canada visa) and apply for spousal sponsorship inland.
The question I have is:
1. When she comes to Canada via Air, in the border, wouldn't the immigration officer question her of the Dual Intent and would she be rejected? She is going to be travelling with me. Would not that be clear that she will apply for Canadian PR once she goes into the country? How to handle this situation? what to tell to the immigration officer? What evidence is required to carry with her? Should she reveal her true intent or just say that she is planning to go back and apply for the PR from there and just came with me for the honeymoon or something like that?
2. If in case if she got denied entry, what is the next step? Can she book a flight from a Canadian airport (as she has still not been allowed into the country can we book tickets through the internal airline counters?) Can I talk with the immigration officer on behalf of her and travel with her to just make sure she reaches back home safely?
Any thoughts or anyone who has gone through this process please share your experiences and thoughts.
Really appreciate it.
Regards,
