This isn't strictly on topic but I was jut wondering if anyone knows if countries differentiate between having two citizenships and having three? I mean - if all the countries involved allow dual citizenship, can you have as many citizenships as you qualify for?

basically yes ... for example Canadian law permits dual or multiple citizenships: you can be a citizen of another country and still be recognized as Canadian.

Thanks Huron!

So basically dual actually means multiple... good to know.

My partner is already making jokes about being an international spy once he's got his third citizenship. I have yet to point out that 1. he hasn't even been approved for PR yet so citizenship is still a few years down the road and 2. international spies don't use their real passports and it would probably be a good way to end up in an awful jail somewhere...

Hah! We live in Tanzania and definitely do not get Insecurity so it's a new one for me... I'll be sure to get him on to it when we move to Canada!

It's brilliant - I already have my partner watching it (he's also listing to CBC radio and reading the Globe and Mail in the morning). I'm doing my utmost to make sure he's prepared for when we return to Canada :D

I love finding a new Secret Agent-ish show! Gonna check this out later.

MI-5 (Spooks) is the BEST Secret Agent-ish show ever. Even better than 24 and Alias.

Well... this will all be VERY helpful. He's planning to fully take advantage of the 3 year support contract to muck around while I support him so at least he'll have plenty of TV to watch while sitting at home with our dog.

Tell him to get out and do something, the dog can stay in and watch TV !

"Support contract" - a wonderful term :)

Ha!

Jokes aside, he'd get upset if I didn't point out I was joking and of course he will be looking for work.

His biggest concern about moving to Canada is whether he'll be able to catch all the rugby matches on TV... he's South African so this is pretty much the greatest criteria for living somewhere.

Hi mimi

I live in Dar. You're not missing much... it's 40+ degrees and 100% humidity in Dar. We got one day of decent weather this week (apparently because of a cyclone in madagascar?) but otherwise it's been miserable for two months.

There was no water to all of Dar for three days last week and Tanesco is cutting power everyday (alternating 8 - 6 and 6 - 11).

So yeah... be happy to be wherever you are :)

Only those going through this process are allowed to make that type of joke :)

Maybe you should look at investing in a sling box, http://www.slingmedia.com/ check out "place shifting".
