I am a dual Canada/USA citizen living and working in Canada. I worked 8 years in the USA and need 2 more years of working (actually just 8 credits) to qualify for SS benefits. Although there is a treaty between Canada and the USA for recognizing pension contributions in each country, I already qualify for the maximum possible CPP benefit in Canada without any consideration of my 8 years of SS contributions. Therefore, I want to work 2 more years or earn just 8 credits with a US company (but live in Canada) to obtain both CPP and SS benefits (I know this is allowed as I checked with SS office) . Is it possible to work for a US company while living in Canada as a dual citizen?

I cannot imagine any reason why that is not possible.

Biggest issue will be sorting out your taxes. Where to pay what, and to who.

Good luck sorting through that...
