Dual Citizen and Marriage Question

Hello Everyone,

I am in the same situation, dual citizen (Canadian - Egyptian) and have the same question as in this thread from 2012:

Appreciate if anyone could shed a light if it would be accepted by cic for spousal sponsorship application if I marry my fiancee using my Egyptian nationality (Egyptian marrying an Egyptian through a legal Egyptian marriage/certificate) , or if I must go for a legal civil marriage/certificate using my Canadian ID as a Canadian marrying an Egyptian for it to be accepted for sponsorship application?

I have emailed cic office in Egypt with my question but no answer.

Anyone been there done that?

Canada shouldn't care under which nationality you get married, just as long as you're there in person (no proxy), it's not a multiple marriage (ie, you're not the 2nd or 3rd wife), and otherwise you comply with the various laws around marriage.
