Hi there!

I'm an international student in Canada. I have a valid study permit of 4 years. Currently, I'm enrolled in a college for a 3-year Advanced Diploma program in Ontario. I started my 1st semester this January. I came to Canada in December 2018. I want to take a break or drop the summer semester. How do I do that? Is it going to be a problem when applying for PGWP?

Talk to your academic advisor in school, beware if you drop semester the courses might not be available in the next semester and if they are pre-requisites for other courses this means there is a chain reaction that can have wide consequences.
If you drop a semester you wont be elligable for PGWP, they might consider you still in some extreme situations like illness but it is up to the officer.

Unscheduled breaks generally result in the refusal of a PGWP. Note that if you do take the break, you will not be allowed to work during that time.

I dropped a SUMMER and had no issue in getting PGWP. Just tell the supervisor you are not getting the courses of your choice and they will print a letter for you. However, while applying for PGWP no one even asked for that letter. Dropping a summer is no issue.

I was a Master's student.
