Hello.

So I am in a coop program of 2 years. I did my first coop already last fall (2019). I was supposed to do my 2nd one this summer term (2020) in the same place. I did come back; however, I had only 165 hours (1 month) worked because Covid happened.

My adviser told me that it was not enough to be counted as my work term 2. They told me that I had to drop out of the coop program and return as a regular student. My question is would this impact my pgwp? I'm graduating on December, and I am really anxious that this would be a problem. The school told me that they would place "official breaks" for my supposed work terms in the transcript.

I might be overthinking but any advice would help. Thanks!

I don't see any issue here. As long as you remain full time student in your last term, you'll be fine. Your college has already suggested that they'll put "official break" for summer term which helps in this case since it was not voluntary break.

Thank you for the reply. I am just worried that since I applied for a Coop work permit and extension of study permit, the IRCC will question what happened that my transcript indicates official breaks instead of work terms.
