Driving to Canada--after landing

Dear all,
We live in the US now and plan to move to Canada soon. We landed some months ago and have not imported our car and aren't ready to do so now. We want to go for some interviews next week and would like to know if we have to rent a car into Canada or can drive our car and tell them we are not ready to import the car yet.
