LANDED..........
07-08-2017
Hello Friends,

We are finally going to Toronto, after we had done our landing last year and got our PR cards. Now we are finally shifting for good. I have a question about driving for the first few months until I get my license.
I live in Dubai and I have accquired a International driving permit. So my question is that can I rent a car in Toronto for the first few months on this license?
I have read somewhere I can drive for the first 60 days but then I need to get my driving license.

Can someone advise me on this, if i can drive using my International driving license while I have a PR card.

Thanks
A

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was hoping somone could tell me the duration, I can drive with my International driving License. I know its probably a limited period but wanted to know whatt that period is...

It is 60 days.

Also once you get your G1 (written test) you cannot anymore use your foreign driving license anymore.

Thanks for the responses everyone, really appreciate that. I landed on August 7th 2017 and got my COPR document then. After that I came back to Dubai on 28th August to join office and now I am leaving on March 4th for good. So keeping all this in mind, will the 60 days still be available to me so that I can rent a car on International Permit?
