I did my drivers licence when I was 18 in the USA at age 24 I exchanged it for a Canadian one and in 2008 I exchanged it for a Luxembourg one in Europe. I see the list is :"Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Isle of Man, Japan, Northern Ireland, Korea, Switzerland."

Luxembourg is between France, Belgium, & Germany. I don't want to redo my drivers license from ZERO! Cause when I land in Canada I want to upgrade it to trucking.

Is there anything I can do?

Before you move to Canada you get a drivers abstract stating when your license was issued and your history, accidents, fines etc. for the past few years. You may be able to get that from the police or they may be able to tell you where you get one. This letter should be no more than 6 months old when you arrive in Canada.

As you arrive in Canada, you would present your foreign license, a translation if it is not in English or French and this drivers abstract. They will then allow you to take the written exam and advanced road test without needing to enter the GDL system and serving the waiting periods.

It is also possible that they have a record of your Canadian license and you might not need to take a test depending on how long it's expired for.
