MooseNBooze said:It seems very unlikely that it will get below 450 (the somewhat arbitrary cutoff score we have so far) unless the number of invitations is increased, which let's face it won't be happening unless the annual quota changes (and which, and let's just be adults about this, won't happen this year and even if it ever happens next year, it won't be retroactive and so we don't need to bother with the politics involved). In short, we all shoukd be prepared for the scores to not go below 450 unless the number of draws or the number of invitations increasess (this is an inclusive "or" - if both increase then it will be a bonanza).
Also, let's face this fact too. Ontario sent out a bunch of invites the first week of November. Saskatchewan opened up 500 spots early this month too. Taking their processing times in mind, next April or May, we're likely to see a bunch of PNPs in the mix as well.
Let's hope the Dec to Feb rounds are more humane.
Best wishes to all.
For sure! Anything above 450 is a competitive score at the moment.JoacRy said:Hi, agree with your comments MooseNBooze. I must admit I have been guilty of being negative and looking at the negative scenarios in the past.
Do you think there's any hope for those of us between 460-470? I'm on 466.
JoacRy, I sure hope 460+ range gets drawn sooner rather than later (I'm in the same range as you are, a bit lower). However, our hope is to get in the next few rounds. After January if we're still waiting for ITA, and what with all the OINP invites and the SINP opening nowadays, I think we will need plan B in our lives. Sad but true. So let's hope for an early Christmas (this coming from an atheist 8).JoacRy said:Hi, agree with your comments MooseNBooze. I do have an outstanding OINP invite but the thing is it costs $1500 and the best case scenario is - let's say - if I submit the OINP app the first week of December the 600 bonus score gets added to my EE profile around May next year. But I think it's quite likely the next few rounds' cutoff will come down to my scores and lower. So I am on the fence about OINP app. I am gearing up to shell out the $$$ after the next round(i.e., if the cutoff in the next round does not corral me in). I would rather spend my money on good quality mooseburgers (within Canada and possobly to support native businesses) and Canadian rye (oh well I am also fine with supporting Caucasians) than pay 1500 dollard for a rather stupid programprcand said:MNB and JoacRy, any reason why you're not expiring PNP as well?
Hi prcand, as far as my understanding goes (and please correct me if I'm wrong) I want to explore the PNP nomination but you have to be invited. My understanding is that the invite comes from the Province you are living in via the 'MyCIC' mailbox. Is this correct? In my case I'm in Ontario and would like to apply (if I can). OR 'Am I totally wrong and this is something you just go to the Ontario government website and open an electronic form and complete and submit it?prcand said:MNB and JoacRy, any reason why you're not expiring PNP as well?
JoacRy, only ON and BC comb through the EE profiles and send invites (but you have to check those provinces and agree to CIC transmitting and sharing your info with them when you set up your EE profile). Can you please advise? If it's just something where you just go and submit, I have the Funds and can do it straight away.
Thank you for your replies.
Many thanks, MooseNBooze. Appreciate your kind words. I re-checked my profile and I did in fact tick the box to share my information with 'Ontario' EE. I also checked the postings in relation to this topic and it seems like 'Ontario' has a very 'selective' system in my opinion.MooseNBooze said:JoacRy, only ON and BC comb through the EE profiles and send invites (but you have to check those provinces and agree to CIC transmitting and sharing your info with them when you set up your EE profile). others, you have to apply on your own (check out Saskatchewan right away, I believe they're still open).
The thing with PNPs is that the provinces are quirky and have their own set of, dare I say it, stupid systems. Even those like ON that scan the EE profiles and send invites have certain declared and undeclared criteria (known ones for OINP invites include > 400 CRS and profiles created after June 1st). I suggest you search the forum for related discussions because there are plenty of them around.
I wish you all the best, you're a very helpful poster.
