Doubt regarding IELTS requirement.....

Dear friends,

I have one doubt regarding IELTS requirement in university of Ottawa for Master programs....

For master programs section they mentioned requirement of IELTS score like this

Proof of Language Proficiency : In the case of applicants whose first language is neither English nor French : TOEFL 550/IELTS Overall 6.5-Individual 5.0(Paper-based)
TOEFL 79-80/IELTS Overall 6.5-Individual 5.0(Internet-based)

But in International section they mentioned IELTS requirement as Overall 7 and writing they require min. 6.5.....

So which one will they consider for me.....I have IELTS score of overall 6.5 and me also have letter from my college stated that 'medium of instruction of 4 year of my Bachelor degree is in English'...

You have to follow the instructions of the IELTS mentioned on your department's website which in this case is 6.5

You should also verify it from your department's admission office.

The required band is 6.5 with individual score of 5.0 for your specific program.

As I advised you previously, the required IELTS band is 6.5 with not less than 5. The information on International students portal are generic and that is why the IELTS requirement over there is mentioned differently. For your program i.e. civil engineering you require IELTS band of 6.5
