Hello people,

I have got one doubt in my mind regarding the IELTS exam in my case. I have done my Master's from USA and been on F-1 visa for almost 3 years. I gave TOEFL but almost 4 years back so i guess its not valid anymore. I was just wondering if any senior member can guide me that whether i need to give an IELTS exam for Canada study visa or not.

Thanks..

I am afraid that you must take IELTS

If you have give TOEFL then IELTS is piece of cake. Just use the material and go for it.

@cancer..thanks for the reply.. well that's what I have been telling my consultant but they told me that its not required in my case. Other then that I am not feeling well and on bed from last few weeks. Can i use my GRE score's which I gave 4 years back as they are still valid!

I don't think CIC recognizes GRE score. BTW, how many points do you have?

points?.. well I am not applying for PR.. I am planning for my study visa to Canada...

I guess by saying *points*.. you mean points for PR...right?..

Yes; you are right. I was mistaken.

Unfortunately I am not expert in Student Visa

its ok.. still thanks for your replies..really appreciate that...

So, could any one else please guide me on my query!

You ought to ask the university where you are applying what requests they have about English knowledge level. They will tell you exactly.

Well I already have my admission letter in my hand and was scared about IELTS being an obstacle during my visa process. As, I have studied in USA from last 3 years and that too for Master's coursework. Doesn't that proves my English ability ! ..

Maybe not. Depends on the university. Ask them about English. I was accepted without any tests at all, I was also surprised and called them to ask, they said if it is not written in their letter of acceptance that you need to pass any English tests, then you are accepted as you are.
