Hi everyone,

My name is Madison. I am a U.S citizen trying to look for a Canadian work permit in order to legally work there.

I've been learning a lot of websites and trying out all the options I have, but still think I'm not on track yet. After 5 months going back and forth doing stuff for applying for the permit, I still don't know what to do.

I really hope someone can help me out with detailed instructions of what I should do and tell me about how long the process really takes until I get the permit.

How do you think you qualify for a work permit? Do you have a job offer under NAFTA or with an approved LMIA?

It's easier to apply PR through EE federal skilled worker program than getting a work permit based on your background.

How do you think you qualify for a work permit? Do you have a job offer under NAFTA or with an approved LMIA?

I tried the eligibility online assessment and the results showed me that I am. I am still trying to get myself an employer who's willing to provide me with LMIA. Honestly, that's what I've been doing and that's all I know.

Then you've answered something wrong in the assessment. From what you have said, without an LMIA or an offer under NAFTA, you don't qualify for a work permit.
