Hi,
I just wanted to write this to give hope and less worry to everyone and help others establish a timeline.
My timeline:
Application submitted: May 9 2020 - NON SDS
Biometrics Request Letter : May 10 2020 - Due to COVID 19 I was not able to give biometrics till December
AIP - August 13th
Medical also updated on August 13th
Biometrics appointment - 11th December
Biometrics Validity Letter - 15th December
Original Passport Request Letter - 16th December
Vfs payment link - 30th December
Vfs passport pickup - 31st December
Stamped Passport Delivery - 8th January 2021
Counterfoils- 11th January
Poe letter - 12th January

Crazy but it took more than 8 months. Also I think they are prioritizing students studying with AIP because after I gave my biometrics everything went really fast. Hopefully this helps.

Congrats bro. In cases like you, yes. But applicants with complete documents followed by biometric and AIP, it is not good. There are many applicants waiting for the results with the complete file. I hope we can get the PPR soon.

A great waiting for you indeed! Appreciate your patience throughout this process, and now your news give a positivity to everyone who reads it. I believe you would gave experienced a bit of hassle while waiting for the decision from IRCC. Now, it all paid you. Congratulations.

Do you mind saying which country you submitted and application processed?

Congratulations! I remember you helped me out in the beginning during my first posts of this site. :)

Can I know which institution you got admission into?

Haven't travelled yet but since I am from India I think due to COVID 19 Air India and Air Canada are my only option

AIP is called Approval in principle, which the IRCC has initiated IN 2020 to process study permit applications faster, as their processing times were affected by covid 19 pandemic. The AIP process has a different way of screening which involves 2 stage verification steps. See the link below under the section applying online. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students.html#exemptions
