Hello everyone,
So I'm currently in ON, I work remotely for a U.S employer. Now, officially, I was hired through a Canadian Professional Employer Organization (PEO) that handles my payroll and benefits. The PEO is fully established in Canada, they pay me in CAD, deduct CPP and CIT.
The U.S employer also has a R&D facility in QC but that is for their engineers which isn't relevant to me. From what I understand, they do not have a subsidiary registered in Canada which is why they used this PEO.
I'm currently on an open PGWP and working towards my 1 year of work experience for CEC. So my question is, will the work that I'm doing with this company count towards my CEC work experience?
Relevant requirements for CEC:
- have gained your work experience by working in Canada while under temporary resident status with authorization to work (I have been working in Canada with proper authorization)
- have been with an employer in Canada (self-employment does not count), (I am employed by the Canadian PEO)
Please let me know what you think or if you've been in a similar situation before!
Thank you all.
