Does US visa refusal effect my eTa application?

I am applying for eTa and I have been refused US visa twice under section 214B, one of the refusal was last week. I want to go for a short holiday. Will this effect my eTa application?

So which country are you from ? Are you able to overcome the reasons why your US applications were refused when applying for Canada ?

OP must be from a country that's not part of the US Visa Waiver Program, but from an eTA country.

You must be honest and declare the previous US visa refusals when you apply for an eTA.

The visa processes are different. So, there's no way of knowing whether or not, your US B1/B2 refusal will affect your Canada TRV. IMO, you should wait for a few weeks/months before you apply as you have been refused a US visa just last week

I am from UK, unfortunately I have been in one of those 5 countries to visit exactly in March 2011 and I am not eligible for ESTA.
So if I apply for eTa now I might get refused as I have just been denied a US visa?

Why aren't/weren't you eligible to apply for ESTA as you hold a British passport? Guess you had traveled to/lived in Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, etc. Anyways

The US and Canada share non-immigration data. That said, the visa/travel authorization processes are different and your eTA assessment would be based on the specifics of your eTA application

What passport did you use to apply for an eTA if not an Indian passport?

Thank you very much for answering.
Can you please tell me what document the eTA canada asked you to send them? Did they ask for bank statement? Work papers?
Your help is much appreciated.

Did you look at the ETA application yourself given the online application usually takes a very short time to be approved usually an hour or so without any need for a bank statements or work papers. An ETA is not as sure you know a visa to enter Canada it is only authorisation to board a plane and only available to visa exempt passport holders so there is no reason for bank statements or work papers in the application.

I did check. Why im asking is, if a person answered yes to "have you been refused a visa" would they contact him before the decision made to ask for any other documents.

They could do but not bank statements or job details most likely reasons for any other visas having been refused.

Ok so I just looked at the ETA application and I could not see this question about being refused a visa unless it is country specific. Where do you see this question, which country are you applying from.
