Does the strike affect Passport return time?

Hi, I have been reading the news about the strike. And I know that it is affecting the processing time.
I applied online for visiting Canada, and got a message to send my passport in. I am currently in the US, and going to send passport to Los Angles. But before I send passport out, I am really worried that my passport will not be returned very soon because of the strike. I would need to use the passport late August...

Does anyone know anything about this?

An update on this one.

Los Angeles passport turn around time is very impressive.

I've got the passport request on July 31st.
Sent both passports together on August 1st,
They received on August 2nd,
Passport was sent out from Consulate on August 6th,
Delivered to my home on August 7th.

From the time stamp on the visa, seems they have issued the visa on August 4th.
So basically, there is no much delay in process after you have a passport request.

Although it is not as fast as before, but I would still want to thank for their effort.
