Does the police certificate have to cover everyday outside Canada?

I just realized I need the police certificate for my citizenship application, and I am planning to get it during my visit back to China in August.
Is it okay if I get the police certificate in, say, mid-August, but I am gonna stay until late August. Or the police certificate has to cover until the last day of my stay?

1. You should note it is an accumulative stay of 6 months, not 6 months at a time. So if you stayed, 2 months, left returned for 1 month and then returned for 3 months, you need a police certificate. This is in the 4 years prior to your application.

Yes you need get it because if you fill up application they will ask you how many days you weren't in canada so if it s more then 6 month each travel you need it even you don't send it with your application they will send you request so it s gonna be more delay

Say I'll be in China from August 1 to August 31. If I got the police certificate on August 15, it will say "this person has no conviction from xxxx to August 15 2017". It's not very realistic to get the certificate on the last day of my stay, but if so, they cannot confirm I don't have any conviction from August 15 to 31.

My question is, is it okay if the certificate is effective until August 15, or it has to be until August 31?
