Hi ,

I became PR on 2013 my wife as well,i left my job and stayed here in canada, while my wife stayed back home and she still got her job, i wasnt working for the past three years but i kept filing my tax returns each year, recently it came to my knowlege that canada revenue sent me some inquiries like filing the dates i was out of the country,my wife world income, our marriage cert, copy of my wife pr card.

My concern is will this information affect her pr obligation and canada revenue will notify the immigration or they might put a flag on her pr card for further inquiries ?!

Her PR obligation is affected by how many days she stays outside Canada, not what CRA is doing. If she stays outside Canada long enough to violate the RO then there's a good chance CIC will find out about it when she tries to return to Canada regardless if CRA tells them or not.

Nobody here can answer how CRA and CIC talk to each other as only the government knows this.

For CRA, hopefully she's also been doing Canadian taxes to declare her world income, since having a spouse in Canada is considered a major tie and most likely makes her a Canadian deemed/factual resident for tax purposes even though she isn't living here.

My guess is it was not done properly as CRA is now looking for this information, and like Rob says, nobody can really tell you, my guess is that they talk a fair bit as CRA is fairly concerned with non resident who should file as resident and a good way for them to keep track of that is to talk to CIC (so it probably goes both ways).

If they only requested you to disclose her income on your tax return, I strongly encourage you to file for voluntary disclosure for her past returns (contact a tax specialist), this will decrease the penalties you will face.
