Hi All,
My study permit application has been pending decision at the Delhi high commission for almost 8 months now. I applied in June 2019 for the fall intake with Medicals and Biometric all together. It was a paper application. They also have my passport since then. Have only received the canned "in progress" kind of responses every time a follow up has been done. I've also applied for GCMS notes in Dec to get clarity on where exactly is the application stuck. They asked for an additional 60 days over and above the 30 days required to process the notes request. My lawyer also wrote to the case management team in Canada in November to intervene and ask Delhi high commission to take a decision but we received a response that the application is under going background check and the study permit processing timelines mentioned on the website are only indicative. So i was wondering does the background check happen after an eligibility review or is background check the first thing that they do? Any help/insight would be highly appreciated. Thanks so much!!
