Does Spouse get a different PR Card and a different SIN number?

Hello,

This is probably a very silly question to ask at this stage. I'm asking it because I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere, or maybe the answer was always right in front of me, but I couldn't see it.

I am the PR applicant. My wife has been included with me in the PR application right from the beginning. We took our IELTS on the same day. We did our medicals on the same day. We submitted police certificates for both of us.. everything was done together right from the beginning of the PR application. And we will be "landing" on the same day. (A positive PR decision has been made).

Questions:

1) When we (me + wife) complete the landing, does she become a PR distinctly from me? Would we fill out TWO separate PR application forms and get TWO PR Cards, one for me and one for the wife? Or only one PR card just for me, and she would have to tag along? That is to say, would we become two distinct permanent residents in Canada, or always as one PR family unit.

2) Can my wife work in Canada, or does she require any separate work permit for that? (Noting that my application along with spouse was accepted for the PR, and we will be arriving together.. However, only the principal applicant's educational and experience is ever done to check for the points (2014). Not the wife and dependents)

3) Can she also apply for a SIN separately? i.e. do we both get a different SIN each, that can enable both of us to work in Canada?

All very silly questions I'm sure based on ignorance of the PR process. I hope someone can help clear these questions.

Thank you in advance!

1) You are each a PR in your own right. 2 cards.
2) See 1). She has the same rights as you do.
3) Yes. Different SIN for each.

PR is actually your identity and you both become PR individually.

She can work without a doubt

SIN number is individual too no matter what. Even if you seprate now you still stay a PR both
