hello forum mates, happy holidays!
QUESTION: Does PPR guarantee the Canadian visa?
SITUATION: Our visas will expire on Feb. 2013, our passports are already at the CEM since our PPR last July, until now.

My husband's office advised him to tender his resignation at least 2 months before we go, to process his clearance, and eventually to get his end of service award (which we will use as part of our proof of fund).
To compute, he should resign right this time to process everything and for us to be cleared for our final exit visas from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are worried to lose our jobs here, and yet no Canadian visas yet. Anyone please, any comments or same situation as ours...

Hi,

QUESTION: Does PPR guarantee the Canadian visa?
ANSWER: No. Nothing is guaranteed until u 'land' at a Canadian POE and let inside by a BSO.

That said, except for CHC-ND cases, once we submit our pps (post PPR, with all other VOs) there is a fair chance that we'd eventually receive our PRVs, unless we end up with any security issues (which, usually is a rarity, and if there was -- we'd already know about it).

However, that 'fair chance' can work up a huge timeframe... seems so in ur case since u've submitted ur pps in Jul-12 and haven't received them back yet. Which, usually takes 3-5 months. Thus, if u do not receive ur stamped pps by this month -- it suggests that ur case is under security scrutiny.

Which is why, I'd avoid resigning now. And 'only' do so after having the PRVs in hand. Yes, in such a case, based on ur scenario, I might have trouble flying for 'landing' within the deadline, but I could take a short leave from my employers -- do the 'landing' -- and come back to them to resign -- to return to Canada after the 2-months of notification pd.

Sodapop,

I work too in KSA,

PPR doesn't mean visas are being issued!! don't take that as granted, there were few cases that visa's were cancelled after PPR.

PPR the way i see it, is the last step before visa's are stamped, so i would strongly recommend that your husband don't quiet his job unless visas are in hand.

Thanks Qorax, I really appreciate your thoughts.

When our embassy asked for our passports on July, they immediately sent another message about our POF. Then we complied to their request. Then we needed to renew some documents here in Saudi Arabia so we borrowed our passports from the embassy, and they told us that after the transaction, we must return those. We just sent our passports back to them and still waiting for uncertainty.

Couldit be possible to send them a message citing our current situation here?
