Does police clearance need to be original?

I know it says so in the instructions, but my wife went to get hers today and they told her they can only send it via email, they don't give originals.

We'll print this one out and submit it.

Is that fine, or should we add a note saying this is what was given and originals cannot be issued?

i got an original police clearance that too when i was not in U.A.E my friend got it for me on my behalf

All police report must be original and include original notarized translated document of police report if they are not written in English or French, regardless of what the country the police report came from.
