Hi all,

I just received an offer from UBC to study there. My expired COPR is being extended by IRCC but I haven't received it yet. I have to take my medical examination first and then wait for them to reissue a new COPR.

Can I tell IRCC to hurry up because I have to start attending uni? Or is there a risk that they will say that I'm not supposed to immigrate to Canada under the EE FSW program to attend uni but only to work?

It doesn’t expedite your process. You can study online (if possible) and not enter Canada until they lift travel restrictions. And then enter on COPR. Or apply for a study permit. You pay international fees because you are not a landed immigrant.

You can defer your intake too.

Yea I think obtaining a student permit now will jeopardies my PR process as I'm one step from receiving my new COPR. I just want to avoid paying the international tuition. Anyway so it seems like notifying IRCC won't speed up the process, thanks.
