Hi, I'm trying to understand how the Multiple entry visa works for international students.
From my understanding, MEW allows an international student to stay in Canada for up to 6 months and their authorized period of stay will be stamped on the passport. This period can be extended by re-entering Canada or applying for visitor records before the period. If the student plan to stay in Canada for the entirety of the program, does he/she needs to apply for a visitor record every 6 months? or does the CBSA officer stamp authorized period stay for +6 months knowing that the foreign national is an international student?

Thanks!

Assuming you are in Canada as a student, you don't need to apply for a visitor record.
