does higher ielts score mean more chances of visa?

in my case my marks are pretty low...pretty damn low.

So ,all other factors kept same, is it true that a higher band will score better in the eyes of the visa officer?

What are you trying to apply for? Be more specific

IELTS is more important when you are applying for schools - Once you've gone over the requirement (6.0 or 6.5), I think it doesn't matter if you got a 9 vs. a 6.5.

What are your marks.

marks are like 55% i still have 2 semesters, for one of them i can get like 60-63% , for the next if i try hard maybe 65% is possible...
