Does having COPR exempt me from the foreign buyer tax?
Nope, it does not confer you the PR status. COPR is just an approval at max. Besides, if you are planning to buy a property, which I feel should be for a considerable amount, why not land and get the PR card (shouldn't take time, if I am not wrong should be delivered in 30 days) . This entails you to many incentives such as first time home buyer discount on LTT, if your property is less than 705k, that gives you further benefits from the government (of course there is an income limit here). There are other benefits you could avail. The interest rates have plummeted to an all time low, even some banks quoting 0.99% (variable).
