Does GCMS notes trigger Ghost Update???

Hi,

I'm a PNP candidate for permanent residency under Express Entry with an AOR of February 10. All sections of my application are completed except the security check, which has been in progress since mid-May 2024. Yesterday, I received a ghost update on my GCKey account. Could this be linked to the GCMS notes I requested 10 days ago, or is it a sign of progress? Do you think ordering GCMS notes can trigger a ghost update?

No, ghost updates when there's any update in your case, it could be change of status for any request, or any updated note from an officer, etc.

You can call IRCC and find out what that ghost update was about. The call agent would have that information for sure.

I called them. They told me "security screening" still in progress. For the ghost update, they had no information

No wonder the system is grinding to a halt when people are calling to find out the reason for a ghost update.
They will contact you if and when they have information to provide.
