I have both an open work permit and a study permit, and I've been studying full-time at an Ontario college since 2020 and working full-time for the past year. I have recently graduated in April 2024 from my program.
During the 2023/2024 academic year, I was not registered for the fall semester (September to December 2023) and was a part-time student in the winter semester (January to April 2024), taking only one course. This was because I had completed all academic requirements for the program except for one outstanding course, which is only offered in the winter semester. As a result, I had no courses to register for in the fall semester and completed the remaining course in the winter 2024 term.
Since September 2023, I have been working full-time as I have an open work permit along with my study permit.
I would like to know if my full-time work during the fall semester (when I was not registered at my college) or the winter semester (when I was a part-time student with only one course) count as work experience for CEC?
Clarification: I'm asking this question because in this link https://www.ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29 it says "Canadian work experience gained while you were a **full-time** student doesn’t count towards the score used to rank your profile" and I was not a registered full-time student during fall 2023 semester.
Update: I went ahead and set up an actual express entry profile to see if my work experience will be eligible for any points. Under the work history section there is a part that asks whether you were in class at least 15 hours per week during the academic year and I answered no to this question (given that I had no courses in one semester that year and only one course in the other semester) and completed the profile and the system gave me the points for my work experience.

I think this shows that my work experience during that academic year counts for Canadian work experience under CEC. I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on this. Thanks
