My Grandmother, grandfather, and father were Canadian citizens who immigrated to the US for job reasons. They lived in Chilliwack BC. I am considering the possibility of retiring in Canada - does my family history help at all? Thanks, John Anning

If your father was a Canadian citizen before your birth, then you may be a Canadian citizen. Otherwise, your family history is irrelevant.

If his father was born outside Canada, even if he is a Canadian citizen, he may not be able to pass it on to his son (assuming the OP was born outside Canada also).

Yes that’s true. I misread OP’s statement thinking that the family immigrated to Canada instead the US.
