Does experience under off-campus work-permit count under FSW or CEC

I finished my school in Canada in April 2014. I held a valid off-campus work-permit then valid until August 2014. I started my full-time job in May 5th. All my final grades were posted before that date. I worked full-time while I applied for Post-Graduate Work-Permit which didn't come to effect until June 26.

My question is the criteria CEC says "work exprience obtained under proper authorization.". Will my work experience gained between the period of May 5th and June 26th be accounted for 1 year experience?

Note: Remember Off-campus Work-Permit allows you to work full-time while not studying full-time and during breaks. So my employment during that period was technically legal.

Anyone who can help will be greatly appreciated.

What is the "Date Signed" says on your PGWP?

You are not eligible for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class if you gained your work experience:

without the proper authorization (for example, illegally, working without a visa),
in a job not classified as skill type 0, or skill level A or B according to the National Occupational Classification,
while you were self-employed, or
while on a student work permit (co-op, off-campus, or on-campus).

I hope that answers your question.

Thank you for the answer. So since I have already applied, should I expect my case to be rejected then? How will they count my one year? Since disregarding the off-campus Work-Permit experience my 1 year would be done on June 26 2015 (i.e 5 days from today). Do you think the case officer would consider that? or they will still count the one year when they received my application (that could possibly before 26?)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but It is very likely you will get rejected, because you do not have the required 1 year skilled Canadian work experience as at the day you applied.
But the good news is, in six days you will be eligible and you can reapply, and also sometimes CIC surprises us. Maybe the officer misses this or there was a recent change in policy, it's unlikely, but one never knows with CIC.
I wish you all the best.

I know :( By the way, this is for OOPNP. I am assuming that the day of apply here is the day I get Acknowledgement Of Receipt. So I am hoping I get AOR after 26th which seems quite unlikely seeing how quickly people are receiving it.

It would be very heart-breaking to see your file rejected and lose $1500 for mere 6 days of difference.

It is frustrating at the same time because I had called CIC multiple times and their agents told me that your OCWP full-time experience will be counted under CEC. Also, the following link says:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

Self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student (for example, on a co-op work term) does not count under this program.

I know there is a grey area here. As long as they give me an opportunity to prove that I wasn't a full-time student then and I had graduated by then. Because what's written in the link you provided to me has not been reproduced anywhere in any section of Immigration Law. So it all depends on which one do they make their reference. You link, my link or the Immigration Law Section that determines CEC eligibility.

Having my application rejected and losing $1500 without seeking explanation would be heart-breaking.

Dude, I am in the same boat. Exactly the same situation as you are in. My PGWP was issued on June 18th and I started work on May 12th. I have already applied to OOPNP. Lets stay in touch, and see what happens. Any way of contacting you?

Hey,

Sorry to hear that you're my companion on this boat. I'm afraid that it's an ill-fated boat and might sink anytime :/ I would love to be in touch with you. But in order to protect my identity I can't share my contact details here. Is there anyway you can personal message me in this forum (I am not sure if there is a way)

I had worked and got paid while i was on PGWP, i took payment in cash and i worked for around 5 months.

Althought it is Skill level job in Toronto, but it is not valid for OOPNP or FSW, that's what i learnt when i applied for PNP in 2013.
